Once a week, the student, the parent and the teacher come together for the private lesson to check on the progress made during the week.  We go over the skills already mastered and add new ones when the child is ready.  Suzuki education is a step-by-step approach; no new skills are taught before the old ones are mastered, securing a solid foundation on which we can build beautiful playing.

Part of the lesson will be reserved for teaching and instructing the home-teacher who has the important role of conducting and supervising the practice sessions with the child at home.

As the child matures, he or she develops a growing ability to focus and concentrate.  If music is going to be a part of your child's education, don't wait, but start soon.  A wholistic and fun approach to learning to play an instrument is the Suzuki method.  It is based on a linguistic approach to learning; so that just as a child learns to speak before he can read, so a child learns to play before he can read music.
